Luke Kelly was a legendary Irish folk singer, political activist, and founding member of The Dubliners, renowned for his distinctively raw, powerful voice and commanding stage presence. Located near his birthplace along the Royal Canal on Guild Street, the striking head sculpture dedicated to his memory was created by German-born, Dublin-based artist Vera Klute and unveiled in 2019.
